ABOUT
Hello! I'm LenaĀ
I’m an occupational therapist and educator with over twenty years of experience working with children, teens, and young adults.
My work focuses on helping teens and young adults better understand themselves so they can make informed choices, build confidence, and develop skills that support independence and a fulfilling life. I take a strengths-based, holistic approach to executive function coaching, recognizing that learning and performance are influenced by many interconnected factors.
I work with individuals with ADHD, autism, anxiety, and other challenges, and I collaborate closely with families to ensure strategies feel realistic, supportive, and sustainable in everyday life.
My Story
Before becoming an occupational therapist, I spent eleven years as a classroom teacher. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the daily challenges students face, both academically and emotionally, and how systems do not always meet their needs.
After transitioning into occupational therapy, I worked in schools across the Bay Area, partnering with teachers and families to support students in developing executive function skills and sensory regulation strategies that made learning more accessible. Over time, I saw how powerful it can be when students are given tools that truly fit who they are.
I live in San Carlos, California with my husband and our two teenage children. Parenting teenagers has given me firsthand insight into the joys, challenges, and complexities families navigate as their children grow toward independence.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with family, friends, and our labradoodle, Ollie.
My Education & Credentials
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Art History from UC Santa Barbara, a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Notre Dame de Namur University, and a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State University. I have extensive training in ADHD, sensory processing, and executive function.Ā
