Our Approach to Executive Function Coaching

executive function

Executive function coaching is a personalized, skill-based approach that helps teens build tools they can actually use in daily life. Research shows it can support meaningful improvements; and what we see in practice reinforces that every day.

  • Improved Organization: Teens learn organizational strategies that are tailored to how they think and work making it easier to keep track of assignments, deadlines, and materials without constant reminders
    (Langberg et al., 2013)

  •  Stronger Time Management: Coaching helps teens learn how to prioritize tasks, break work into manageable steps, and plan their time more realistically. These skills that are often especially challenging for teens with ADHD.
    (Weyandt & DuPaul, 2006)

  •  Better Self Regulation: Teens develop strategies for self-monitoring, managing emotions, and responding to frustration or impulsivity in more productive ways both in and outside of school.
    (Barkley, 2015)

  •  Improved Academic Engagement: With support in planning, goal-setting, and follow-through, many teens experience improved motivation and academic performance, not because they’re pushed harder, but because the work feels more manageable
    (DuPaul & Stoner, 2014)

  • Increased Confidence and Independence: As teens gain skills and experience success, confidence grows. Over time, they begin to rely less on external prompts and more on their own strategies.
    (Kauffman & Landrum, 2013)

Executive function coaching gives teens  the tools and support they need to feel capable and confident in their own lives.
